GEORGE NEWS - The George Masjid in Lavalia is being revamped thanks to a donation of R400 000 from the Masjid Waqf Fund, a fund administrated by the SA National Zakah Fund (Sanzaf).
George Masjid Chairman Suleman Abdool Mansoor says the mosque will receive a total revamp and will also be enlarged. The revamp includes the improvement of the ladies section, ablution facilities and the sound system. New carpets will also be laid.
The South African National Zakah Fund (SANZAF), is pleased to inform you that we have identified Masjid dur Rahmah in Lavallia, George as the beneficiary of the Masjid Waqf Fund.
SANZAF is able to pledge support to the value of R400 000 to the development of this masjid thanks to those who have supported the Masjid Waqf Fund, largely through their contributions to SANZAF’s Operation Qurbani Campaign.
Similar initiatives are being planned across the country, subject to the growth of our Waqf Fund through your generous contributions.
Operation Qurbani is one of SANZAF’s biggest national projects annually, which aims to meaningfully support the most under-resourced areas in South African and the Southern African region.
SANZAF allocates R10 of each Qurbani (local and in Africa) towards the Masjid Waqf Fund.
We wish to thank all our contributors for their loyal support as well as our beneficiaries whose heartfelt duas help SANZAF to continue serving those in need.
